One of the ICDI’s main objective is to facilitate and provide all the possible social and economical opportunities to the women and girls; in order to strengthen their capacities  ICDI in support with Action Aid – Pakistan;

Action-Aid

Sensitized more than 16400 women, girls, female teachers, community elders and influential(s), through awareness raising sessions, seminars, interactive theater and capacity building programs on women rights and Violence Against Women (VAW).

Formed 10 women support groups in rural and urban slum areas of District Peshawar and Syce mandi District Nowshera that supported 1500 women. In these sessions Women support groups identified more than 50 Gender Base Violence (GBV) victims (including early marriage, forced marriage, rape cases, domestic violence and Sawara cases).

Vocational training centers were established for women and adolescent girls in Urban and rural area of Dist Peshawar, 220 women and girls were trained, out of them, 27 girls are now earning bread for their families.

Sensitized more than 1200 students on Life Skills Based education awareness rising sessions in public & private schools of District Peshawar. It was focused on broader issues of child and adolescent vulnerability, health and well being, along with other social issues, to which life skills are being applied

Universal Children Day November   20,2009

20 November, marks the day on which the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in 1989. ICDI with Action Aid – Pakistan organized one day activity at Elizabeth Girls High School, Peshawar. More than 400 participants, included Students, teacher, representatives of Civil Society, NGOs, Government and Media from District Peshawar participated in this event.
